Description

Silent Coat Sound Absorber 35 is a polyurethane foam material with a special formulation to achieve superb sound absorption and flexibility.

The material is designed primarily to absorb unwanted high frequencies. The unique memory foam properties also make it great for sandwiching between panels. After application the material fills the gaps between the surfaces.

Sound Absorber can also be used behind speakers or inside a bass enclosures as a diffuser. The ‘egg box’ form on the surface absorbs 30-40% more sound than plain material.

Overview

The material is designed primarily to absorb unwanted high frequencies. The unique memory foam properties also make it great for sandwiching between panels. After application the material fills the gaps between the surfaces. At 7mm thick, it is the thinnest and most physically versatile option in the Silent Coat absorber line, utilizing a highly flexible, open-cell polyurethane foam with specialized memory properties.

Key features

Because of its advanced memory foam attributes, the material is perfectly optimized for sandwiching directly between two panel surfaces. Once a plastic door panel, pillar garnish, or dashboard trim piece is clipped back into place, the 7mm foam compresses effortlessly into tight voids, then expands to fill the gaps. This mechanical damping permanently cushions loose factory trim clips and prevents plastic-on-metal interior squeaks and rattles. The porous polyurethane core functions as a physical trap for continuous, high-frequency airborne sounds. It captures and diffuses tire roar, wind rush, and harsh road noise vibrating inside the door cavity. Additionally, placing it directly onto the metal wall right behind a speaker magnet breaks down harsh rear-acoustic reflections, preventing back-wave phase cancellation and giving you a cleaner mid bass soundstage
